Bisto, Liffey and Smokey are Awesome. Period.

Today, the super cool guardians of Bisto, Liffey, and Smokey visited the Biscuit to pick up some goods.  These three amigos are now rockin’ some If It Barks collars in the Bangor area.  Representin’!  So, the shopping spree was apparently followed by a fancy photo shoot.  Here are the results…

Daniel Island, SC Dog Rescue Victory!

On a rainy, gloomy day in Maine, it can be hard to see the sunny side of the street.  Well, cheer up and give your dogs extra kisses tonight…a really cool shop-owner (similar to the Loyal Biscuit) in South Carolina made a heroic rescue last night.  Thanks to Lucia’s Premium Pet for being an awesome store in the Daniel Island Community.

The story doesn’t end there.  These puppies and their mother, along with two other emaciated adult dogs and a young pup need your help!  Please consider donating money to help feed and vet these sweet babies until they can be adopted out.

Donations- Checks can be made to Animal Rescue and Relief and can be sent to

Lucia’s Premium Pet

162 Seven Farms Dr.

Suite 115

Charleston, SC 29492

Thank you for any help you can offer or encouraging words!  Please send this to your friends and family.

Goodnight!

Dog in Rockland needs HELP!

Good afternoon, Loyal Biscuit Blog Readers!  This is a call to action.  This sweet dog was reportedly shot in the leg.  He has made it through surgery, but he needs MONEY!  Our awesome Animal Control Officer, CJ paid for his medical care out of pocket.  That is so kind of her, but I’m certain it wasn’t cheap or expected.  We have a little fund going for him, so please drop off money when you are in getting things for your dogs and cats.  If you are out of town, Donations may be mailed to us or directly to the fund:

Camden National Bank
For the Benefit of Injured Animals
C/O ACO Cj Virgie
PO Box 880
Rockland, ME 04841

Here  is the full story from our Rockland/Thomaston Dog Trainer, Marie Finnegan.

Great Dog Quotes

These are some of my favorite dog quotes.  Some of these are out of the latest newsletter from Chesapeake Safe Harbor, Inc.’s newsletter.  Safe Harbor is a breed specific (very cool!) rescue group in Bremen.  We are currently hosting an Easter Tree to raise money for this group as well and Knox Co. Humane Society.

“A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart.  If you have loved many dogs, your heart is very big.” -Erica Jong

“If your dog doesn’t like someone you probably shouldn’t either.” – Unknown

“Dogs’ lives are too short.  Their only fault, really. ” ~Agnes Sligh Turnbull

“If you think dogs can’t count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them. ” ~Phil Pastoret

And now, one of my favorite videos…

Enjoy this Sunny afternoon!

Bruce with a broken leg…HELP!

Faithful readers, please take the time to help out the local Humane Society by donating time or money to help little Bruce….

Sweet Bruce!

Sweet Bruce!

This poor sweet soul was found on the side of the road in a snowbank with a severely broken leg and a large laceration on another. A good samaritan did the right thing by calling the Animal Control Officer and Bruce McTavish became the responsibility of the HSKC

Sweet Baby Bruce...

Sweet Baby Bruce...

Bruce received amazing care and orthopedic surgery at Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital in South Thomaston. Dr. Glenn Yovino has long been a loyal friend and supporter of the Humane Society of Knox County. His extreme generosity in greatly reducing the cost of this expensive surgery made it all possible. Even so, times are tough and we need help to defray the costs of Bruce’s care. Bruce has at least 6 weeks of rehabilitation and recovery ahead of him. If you’d like to support Bruce’s recovery efforts please consider making a donation to help us with his medical expenses.

I know that all of you who read this blog are serious, dedicated dog lovers.  Please help this little man out.  Donate HERE!

Bruce looks like Orli, all skinny and pitiful with rosebud ears.  People are always saying how much they love Orli and her nice short coat…here’s your chance.  Apply to adopt Bruce today!
